Emerging AI Tools – Music, Legal Tech, and Customer Insight Collection

In the latest AI news, AI continues to excite us in the ways we engage with content, manage legal processes, and obtain consumer insights.

We look at 4 AI tools recently launched in the past month that are worth mentioning: Meta’s MusicGen, Runway Gen-2, Genie AI’s Legal Assistant, and Zigpoll.

Meta’s MusicGen – Text to Melodies

Meta’s MusicGen is a unique AI tool that allows users to generate short new pieces of music based on text prompts, optionally aligned to an existing melody.

This AI model trained on 20,000 hours of licensed music data and an internal dataset of 10,000 high-quality music tracks, boasts an impressive capability to handle text and music prompts.

With its Transformer model architecture, the efficiency and speed of MusicGen are quite commendable. The tool decomposes audio data into smaller components, predicting the next section in a piece of music. This is similar to how language models predict subsequent characters in a sentence.

It’s an interesting advancement, albeit lacking precise control over the melody orientation.

“For example, if you combine the text prompt ‘a light and cheerful EDM track with syncopated drums, airy pads and strong emotions, tempo: 130 BPM’ with the melody of Bach’s ‘Toccata and Fugue in D Minor (BWV 565)’, MusicGen can generate a unique piece of music.”

The results are somewhat subjective, yet it must be acknowledged that the larger models (1.5B and 3.3B parameters) produced higher-quality audio compared to their smaller counterparts.

Tests have indicated that MusicGen’s performance is slightly ahead of Google’s MusicLM, both in terms of matching the music to the lyrics and the plausibility of the composition.

Meta’s decision to open-source the model and its code for research and commercial use is another feather in its cap. It sets the stage for more advancements in this unique blend of AI and music.

Runway Gen-2: Painting Visual Narratives with Text

Taking a leap into the text-to-video conversion, Runway Gen-2 recently became publicly available.

Initially accessible through a closed Discord server, this AI tool can generate 4-second video clips based on text prompts.

While it might not recreate specific characters perfectly, its potential for creative storytelling is commendable. Users have found ways to stitch together multiple clips, unfolding imaginative narratives in bite-sized videos.

A remarkable example is the ‘Pepperoni Hugspot Commercial‘ by a user named ‘Pizza Later’, demonstrating the tool’s potential for innovative content creation.

As the tool continues to grow, its limitations in the free version may encourage users to upgrade to the paid Standard account for higher-resolution videos and an increased video limit.

This shift to public availability is a step forward in making online text-to-video conversion more accessible, with the promise for further captivating digital content.

Genie AI Your Legal Document Review

The AI and machine learning tech company Genie AI is developing the UK’s first AI Legal Assistant.

Using OpenAI’s GPT-4 technology, the company aims to focus on accuracy under UK law, aspiring to surpass even GPT -4’s impressive performance in legal tasks.

With a real-time document-level workflow, the AI Legal Assistant provides various features including clause risk highlighting and document simplification. It offers a multi-modal experience integrated within the Genie editor. The assistant queries multiple models in addition to GPT-4 to improve accuracy.

“Genie AI’s vision is to create the world’s best AI Legal Assistant for the UK and other common law jurisdictions.”

By reducing contract negotiation delays by up to 80%, Genie AI aspires to revolutionise the legal document review and negotiation process.

Supported by notable figures such as Lord Neuberger, former President of the UK Supreme Court, Genie AI holds promise in transforming the traditional legal landscape.

Zigpoll: A New Dimension to Customer Feedback

Zigpoll is an innovative survey and feedback platform designed to gather customer insights through various methods, including on-site surveys, interactive polls, and forms.

Its strength lies in its no-code setup, seamless integration with e-commerce platforms, and an AI assistant trained on response data, providing automatic insights and trend detection.

Zigpoll’s advanced targeting rules and third-party integrations ensure that surveys reach the right people at the right time, thereby increasing response rates.

It also offers incentive-based participation, further enhancing user engagement.

The platform’s intuitive dashboard simplifies data analysis, with the AI assistant offering an in-depth understanding of the feedback collected.

Zigpoll’s various pricing options, from the free Lite plan to more advanced plans, cater to different business needs and budgets.
